John Miller began working with glass in 1987, during his studies as an undergraduate at Southern Connecticut State University. A decade later, he earned an MFA in sculpture at the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana. From 1993 to the present, Miller has been a staff member at Pilchuck Glass School in many different capacities – as a technician, coordinator, gaffer and instructor. He exhibits internationally, frequently touring the country to lecture and demonstrate with hot glass.
The artist’s work is in permanent collections across the country, as well as internationally, in such locations as Glazenhuis in Belgium, Museum of Arts and Design in New York, Chysler Museum of Art in Virginia, Mobile Museum of Art, Tacoma Museum of Glass, Pilchuck Glass School, and the Museum of American Glass in New Jersey. Miller has been featured in Glass Magazine, American Craft, Glass Quarterly, and Vetro Magazine.
